Chef Khalid Benghallem’s extraordinary international background has elevated the reputation of our AAA Four-Diamond award-winning fine dining Orlando restaurant, renowned for contemporary cuisine and memorable, upscale dining experiences. The Venetian Room truly is one of the best places to eat in Orlando and central Florida.
Under Chef Benghallem’s leadership, The Venetian Room has collected an unprecedented collection of honors and recognitions, including the AAA Four-Diamond award for the past eight years. Chef Benghallem has been twice named one of the “Top 20 Chefs in Central Florida” by Restaurant Forum Magazine and was inducted into Orlando Magazine’s Dining Hall of Fame in 2009 as one of the best Orlando has to offer.
Trained in Europe and North Africa, Chef Benghallem worked in restaurants in France, Corsica and Morocco. He began his culinary career at the prestigious Ecole Hoteliere de Rabat in Morocco, where he was the 1992 Student of the Year.
Chef Benghallem served as chef of Gulliver's in the Swan Hotel, sous chef at Epcot's Restaurant Marrakech, executive chef and part of the opening team at Shula's Steak House, and sous chef at the Village Bistro on Park Avenue in Winter Park. He was also on the opening staff of Emeril's Orlando.
Chef Benghallem works together with Caribe Royale’s Executive Chef Vincent Posada on all aspects of our fine dining Orlando hotel restaurant, maintaining its reputation as one of Orlando's top restaurants. Chef Posada's background includes Executive Chef at The Grosvenor in Lake Buena Vista, FL, The Sheraton Commander in Cambridge, MA, and the Boston Park Plaza. Chef Posada has been at Caribe Royale since it opened in 1996.
